America is at a crossroads in the battle for its soul—we can perpetuate a violent history of race wars or dig deeper and transcend the illusion that the value of a human life can be determined by skin color.

Born in Atlanta, GA and based in Los Angeles, CA, Celia N. Myrick is a recognized African American filmmaker and Psychology graduate of the renowned Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She acted as co-producer for the social impact documentary, Dear Mr. President (formerly God vs. Trump), directed by Award-winning British filmmaker, Martin Dunkerton, which made its celebrity red-carpet premiere at The Chinese Theater in Hollywood, November 2016. Dear Mr. President recently received an international distribution offer.

The inception of UBUNTU: BRIDGING COMMUNITIES THROUGH MINDFULNESS  is inspired by the legacies of Celia’s late parents. Her mother was a university professor, scholar, and activist/advocate for the higher education of under-served BIPOC youths to combat high incarceration rates. Her father was an ex-convict who turned his life around, after his prison release, and became a highly successful real estate broker. Further, she dedicates this film to her brothers, uncles, cousins and all BIPOC men, women, and children who choose to brave and breakthrough intergenerational trauma, combating racial injustices, white terror, police terror, and some, the prison "slave" system.

A critical first step to ending violence against African American men, women, children— and people of all races, is to re-member our common origin, the origin of Humanity—Mother Africa.  There is a primordial spiritual connection shared by every human being on the planet.  It is this connection that we must revive and embrace to SAVE LIVES and create a new America where truly All Lives Matter.
